Hearing loss can be seen in those who are affected by diseases. Old age can also be another cause of this condition. Though these are the two main causes of hearing loss, there are some other people who may suffer from trauma that can cause this problem too.

These are the usual deafness types associated with various ear problems. The various types of hearing loss are all based on the cause of the condition. The common type of hearing loss include the conductive hearing loss, the sensorineural hearing loss, neural hearing loss and the mixed hearing loss.

The mechanism of damage to the ear and the related structures plays a role in the classification of the hearing impairment. Conductive hearing loss is a type of deafness that is caused by damage to the internal parts of the ear. This can be caused because of the presence of any infection in the ear. There are some kids who have had birth trauma or defects. This too can be a cause for this problem.

One of the other types of impairment in the hearing is the sensorineural hearing loss. This is the kind of problem in which the person suffers from damage to the inner structures of the ear. This damage could also be found in the cochlear of the ear. The common reason for this kind of damage is the explosion and other sounds that are very loud. The ageing process and the use of some kind of medications can also cause the person to suffer from this type of hearing loss. Though usually there is hearing loss that is mild or more than that, there are sometimes when the loss can be severe.

The neural hearing loss, as the name indicates, is a condition in which there is a nerve damage. The brain is the central control of the nerves. When there is damage to the brain because of trauma or disease, the ability of a person to hear is lost. Other than this, a person who has damage to the auditory nerve will also suffer the same fate.

Though each of these problems are caused by different causes, there are some cases where there may only be a mild difference. This is especially present in the sensorineural type and the conductive type. The type is called as the mixed type when both the symptoms are present. The reason is to be found and then prompt management of the condition is needed.
